My name is Candace Crawford. I am 29 yers old from Toronto, Ontario. I grew up skiing at Georgian Peaks Ski Club which is where I live pretty much full time when I am not on the road. I travel the world following snow most of the year so I consider myself a bit of a nomad.
I have been skiing since I was 2 years old. That’s where I found my love of sports, the outdoors and the need to go fast. When I was 14, I realized my dream of becoming an olympian and from there on my journey as a high performance athlete started. I made my dream come true in 2018 when I represented Canada at the PyeongChang Olympics in Korea. I was on the National Team for & then in 2020, I was dropped from the team and have been an independent skier ever since. It has been a crazy journey but I wouldn’t change it.
As a young athlete, I had many role models in and outside my sport who aspired me to achieve more than I thought was possible. I wanted to follow in their footsteps and become a great role model for younger generations . I strive to stay be an authentic me and show that females really can do anything they want to.
I am avid skier, biker (both mountain and road), rock climber & hiker. But really, I am an all around sport & fitness enthusiast. I am up for anything. Probably why I love going on adventures & exploring new places or even places you know because who knows what you’ll find. The world is here to see so why not take advantage while I can.
When I retire from professional skiing, I plan to coach for a few years while I chip away at my degree in Landscape Architecture. But for now, I’m still chasing winter and living life on my skis full time.
